I have been consulting with a younger man who has a vision to bring a message to youth that sobriety is cool. I wrote an email to him the other day with an observation that I think we would all do well to remind ourselves about from time to time: "The energy of health and healing is divine and by definition has no limits of space and time."
Here's that thought in context:
I know I dumped a lot of material on you today. That is because the possibilities to make a difference are huge. In my decade as Director of Program Development with the President's Council (Nixon through Reagan), I organized and supervised hundreds of national and international programs, 90% of which were sponsored by private industry. I don't know everything, but I did learn something. Since that time, I have had my ass kicked but also scored several touchdowns. If you're afraid to lose you can't win.
Here is one thing I learned: When our goals and motives are in alignment for the highest good and we don't really care who gets credit, miracles are possible.
You are a miracle on course. Keep your ego out of the deal and don't engage in judgementalism. One day at a time, etc., etc. Then, whatever happens is divine. Yes, there will always be the skeptics on the sideline, second guessing every call. That's O.K. Even skeptics need love.
We all know what is a stake here: What if one kid, just a single one, gets clean and sober. It could change the future of the universe as we know it. Think about it. One kid gets his/her shit together and then influences a few others who in turn pass it on to still more. Health and healing are more infectious than disease and despair. One heart at a time ripples outward to heal the universe! Awesome, dude!
Or, what if nothing happens, as judged by the ego world. What if we just dream of the possibilities and the dreams drift into the cosmos to be picked up by another spirit traveler in the distant future when circumstance for such radical thinking are more ready for change?
The energy of health and healing is divine and by definition has no limits of space and time. You and what you think and do is metaphysical (beyond time and space). Therefore, trust your instincts, stay close to your Higher Power and trust that those who engage in what can be . . . will be.
